Smallbone of Devizes has confirmed that the company is currently in a consultation period and redundancies are expected as they put into action cost cutting measures to ensure the company's future prosperity.

Smallbone of Devizes stated that like many other businesses in the UK, Smallbone of Devizes is unfortunately being effected by the recession. In order to improve efficiencies and ensure the company's future prosperity and security they have identified some organisational changes, which are necessary to withstand the impact of this extremely difficult trading environment.

A representative said: “This only relates to the Smallbone site at Devizes and doesn't effect the rest of the group. The company is now in a consultation period and the company is working with the the union.”
