The BRC-KPMG London Retail Sales Monitor has reported that despite slightly stronger sales than the whole of the UK, like-for-like retail sales in London were still lower than last October.

The latest retail monitor revealed that sales were 1.8% lower than last year, with the BRC (British Retail Consortium) stating that the banking crisis and slump in the housing market had depressed consumer confidence.
