Beds and bedroom furniture provide sales boost for John Lewis in another strong week.

According to the latest weekly sales figures to 21 May 2016, total sales grew by 6.1% to £75.5m, with its Home category delivering a solid performance, as sales increased by 5%.

Within the Home sector, furniture saw a positive boost in sales, up by 8.7%, with beds and bedroom products in particular outperforming the rest of the category.

Christine Kasoulis, buying director, Home, John Lewis, said: “John Lewis saw strong growth on the year with total sales +£75.5m, +6.1% year on year.

“Home sales were +5.0%, with Furniture +8.7% thanks to especially strong sales in Beds and Bedroom. The improving weather drove Outdoor Living product sales, which were +11.9%. Gift food and seasonal was also +8.7%.”
