American-based online boxed mattress firm Casper has announced it has launched the brand in the UK market earlier this week.
Casper, which has showrooms in its New York base as well as in Los Angeles, officially launched into the European market on 30 June 2016 and sees the company open in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, with its Europe headquarters based in Berlin.
Now, Casper has entered the UK market, which already features an array of online mattress firms including eve Mattress, Simba and Bruno to name but a few.
Founded by Jeff Chapin and Constantin Eis, Casper is the latest boxed mattress to enter the increasing market since its launch back in 2014 and has recently surpassed sales of $100m (£77.1m), expanding its staff from five to 150 in just over two years.
According to sources the company has raised around $70m (£54m) since its start-up in 2014 from venture-capital firms including Institutional Venture Partners and New Enterprise Associates, whilst also investing heavily into marketing the brand as it begins its UK expansion.
As well as investor backing, Casper has also been supported by a list of celebrity stars including names such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire.
