Homewares giant Cath Kidston Group Limited has announced that founder Cath Kidston has stepped down from her role as a non-executive director to ‘pursue other business interests’.
The decision to call time on the board follows Cath’s resignation from her creative director role back in 2014. Cath remains an ambassador and a significant shareholder in the Cath Kidston Group, holding a 12% stake.
A spokesman for the Group confirmed: “Cath has stepped down from her role as a director of Cath Kidston Group Limited to concentrate on her other business interests. From founding the business back in 1993, Cath has been the driving force behind what the brand stands for today.
“From opening the first store in Holland Park, there are now over 200 stores around the world including in Japan and the Middle East with dedicated fans all around the world. Cath remains a large shareholder in the company as well as being a huge presence and personality for the business, brand and employees.”
Paul Mason, chairman, added: “Cath has been an incredible sounding board for us all on the Board. Her drive, spirit, entrepreneurism and design originality has been an inspiration to us all. Cath remains a very important brand ambassador for the company as well as a significant shareholder.”
