Somerset-based manufacturer Charltons Furniture has announced the appointment of Andrew Packwood as its new product manager.
Reporting to operations director, Bill Howard, Andrew will be responsible for quality control, as well as having an input in product development, new ranges and new ideas.
The move follows Charltons recent management buyout (MBO – see related), which saw Charltons Furniture complete an MBO from their parent company, AJ Charlton & Sons Limited earlier this year.
Commenting on his new role, Andrew said: “This is a great opportunity for me and following the recent MBO this is also a very exciting time to be joining a dynamic and extremely busy young company full of fresh thinking and innovative ideas.
“I have a passion for quality furniture. The fact that last month I was included in the management team that went to China to speak face to face with our suppliers is testament to how seriously quality control is taken here at Charltons.”
Ross Charlton, managing director, added: “Andrew is just one of several key appointments that we are making. We have always given the highest priority to the quality of all our products and the appointment of Andrew is very much a statement of our future intent. Quality control is everything.”
