The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) has announced the return of the BIID Student Design Challenge
The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) has now announced the return of the BIID Student Design Challenge, which will be hosted by De Montfort University, Leicester on Saturday 19th November.
Open exclusively to third year BA Interior Design and Interior Architecture degree students, course directors from across the UK are invited to nominate and register teams of six students to take part in this industry led competition on behalf of their university.
The competition has been created to help students design collaboratively in small groups, an essential practical skill that is used in many design studios. Each team will be presented with a design brief on the day and will be given just six hours to develop a design proposal, before presenting their designs to a judging panel led by BIID President Susie Rumbold, wo commented on this year’s challenge:
“We are delighted to bring back the BIID Student Design Challenge for its second year. As well as providing the students with the opportunity to build practical design skills, the day is a fun and unique experience for students, allowing them to work with and gain feedback from a practising designer. ”
Register your university and six students to take part in the competition here. The deadline is 12pm on Friday 11th November 2016.
