Over the last six years, exhibitor’s figures have grown double-digit by around 17.4% when numbers were just over the 2,400 mark in 2010. Among the companies on show, the number representing the UK has consistently grown over recent years, with the latest standing at 79 – slightly lower than last year’s figure of 84, but organisers confirmed that more UK exhibitors are still to sign up.

The last event saw over 69,000 trade visitors attend, up from 67,861 in 2015, as well as witnessing a 89% rise of international exhibitors –which has continued to grow up by 1% for 2017, as Heimtextil expects visitor numbers to expand once again, with over 2,300 buyers from the UK expected to make the trip.

Sabine Scharrer, Heimtextil director, highlighted that the upholstery sector of the event continued to show growth, especially in the artificial leather category, as well as stating that the beds sector has already been ‘fully booked’.

Over 200 design textile studios will appear at the show, with a special digital printing event that will display a live presentation of technology processes in mini factory settings to allow visitors the opportunity to see first hand the process of digital design and print methods.

Furthermore, Heimtextil will house the Heimtextil Theme Park Trends for 2017/2018, exploring four trends that are set to shape the industry over the next few years. These include virtual reality, cultural, planetary and natural trend topics.
