The Organisers of the January Furniture Show 2017 Furniture Awards has announced that entries are now live.
Under a revised format, categories will now be defined by sector rather than price bracket, including Bedroom, Dining, Living and Décor.
The judging criteria will be based on the design of the product, quality of the materials and manufacture (relative to its price point), value for money and marketability, with the winners to be announced and presented on the first day of the show.
Sitting on the 2017 judging panel includes Malcolm Walker, director of buying for Furniture Village; Diana Celella, award-winning interior designer and president elect of SBID; Rob Scarlett, furniture designer; and Royce Clark, managing director of Grampian Furnishers.
Commenting on the Furniture Awards, Show director Theresa Raymond said: “The exciting and diverse range of products on view at the January Furniture Show is in itself a celebration of the British furniture industry.
“The Furniture Awards takes the best of these products, from all levels of the marketplace, and lifts them above the rest. I would encourage every exhibitor to enter at least one product, just for the promotional opportunities available to winners and the prestige that comes with an award of this stature.”
