Furniture design and manufacturer Lutyens Furniture & Lighting has announced the launch of a new company, headed by Candia Lutyens.
Officially launched at Decorex 2016 back in September, Lutyens Contemporary is a new furniture design brand that focuses across the seating, tables and lighting product sectors.
Candia Lutyens, the granddaughter of Lutyens Furniture & Lighting founder Sir Edwin Lutyens, which was established back in 1988, said on the launch: “I am proud that Lutyens Contemporary now brings in a third generation to the helm of the designs.
“We will continue to echo the Lutyens design idiom throughout our pieces though most of them are now unashamedly derivative and our own designs rather than coming directly from the hand of the master.”
Lutyens Contemporary, which has also incorporated designs by Robert Lutyens – Edwin’s son and Candia’s father, has also launched a new standalone website, as well as announcing that it plans to launch a new upholstered design named ‘Robert Napoleon Chair’.
