Contract furniture manufacturer Broxap has announced it is celebrating its 70th anniversary.
Chesterton-based Broxap was established back in 1946 and was founded by Sydney Lee from its original site in Harriseahead.
Now, 70 years on, the company, which specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of street and project specific furniture, operates from three locations across the UK including its base in the Midlands at Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, as well as in Nottinghamshire and Hampshire.
The company, which employs over 200 staff, said that a lot has changed over the years and that it has opened a large scale fabrication/metalworking shop and powder plant, which replaces the former furnace and foundry.
Broxap explained: “This diverse approach to business has also seen the company move into the playground equipment and sports market places with the acquisitions of Hand Made Places and Stadia Sports respectively.
“Moving forward the company offers the stability and growth needed to meet new and emerging markets whilst practising its old fashioned values of providing experience, quality and technical know-how through the products and services that it provides.”
