The Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) has confirmed that the British Standards Institution (BSI) has published a new revision of two standards for non-domestic furniture.

The new European Standards include BS EN 15372, for non-domestic table requirements, and BS EN 12727, for non-domestic ranked seating requirements.

The BS EN 15372: 2016 is the European standard for assessing tables, other than office desks, used in all con-domestic and contract environment and replaces the previous 2008 version with immediate effect.

BS EN 12727: 2016 is the European Standard for assessing seating that is attached to the fabric of a building and is used to assess products such as auditorium and stadium seating and replaces the previous 2000 version with immediate effect.

Both are full revisions of the standards, with the main changes in the relating to updated references to the test method standard EN 1730: 2012 and EN 1728: 2012 respectively.
