A collaboration between Duvalay, and renowned entrepreneur, Hilary Devey, the collection combines artisan bed making techniques with a celebrity-led brand, which continues to gain national attention amongst the media.
Liz Colleran, Marketing and Sales Director at Duvalay, says: “The Independent newspaper named the Diamond mattress as this year’s best mattress, having been reviewed alongside a further 13 other leading brands. It has certainly helped to drive brand awareness and retailers have noticed a difference in their sales because of it.”
The star of this year’s show was their two new premium mattresses – The Diamond-Luxe and Emerald – which has added further glamour to the collection and proved an instant hit with current and new customers.
The Diamond-Luxe takes all the elements of the best-selling Diamond mattress, including the finest materials of silk, cashmere and cotton and combines it with Wooltec®, for an extra sensual night’s sleep. Wooltec® was unveiled at the show to rave reviews and is produced using one of nature’s finest materials, lambswool, which is blended using modern manufacturing techniques for a much more breathable mattress. It also features MidasTouch – a new spring system.
Also getting its first outing at the Bed Show was the Emerald mattress, which features both Wooltec® and an ingenious new pocket spring called MidasTouch. A unique spring system, MidasTouch has been specially designed to offer initial softness but also provides much needed support once weight has been applied. Each spring is encased in its own fabric pocket, to actively reduce partner disturbance for a relaxing night’s sleep.

Liz comments: “The Bed Show 2016 has been our most successful to date, with orders exceeding our projections. Feedback on the new launches was positive and very encouraging with current and new retailers listing our latest additions.
“A key objective for the company was to develop new relationships with retailers across the UK and the show provided us with an ideal platform to do just that, with new customers responding well to our stylish collection and ethos for adding a touch of glamour to the world of beds. Feedback has been very positive, with many retailers commenting they were surprised by the level of quality and luxury features for the cost of the mattresses.”
Duvalay’s new capsule collection of headboards also caused a ripple of excitement amongst the retail audience and continued Hilary’s ethos for adding a feminine touch to an otherwise male dominated industry. Launching in a range of plush fabrics – from traditional herringbone through to organic linens and lavish velvet, each new headboard design was handpicked by Hilary for its elegant and sophisticated style and caters for the most discerning taste.
Liz adds: “Our new range of headboards and divans proved to be popular at the show as our designs offered something different to what is already out there. Our stud headboard, Hilary’s favourite, was a modern alternative to our traditional offering, and was a hit thanks to the organic colours and cool greys of our latest fabric collection.”
The company plans to continue to look for further retailers across the UK to offer consumers the option to go into store and try out the Hilary Devey Collection. With a number of new distributors coming on board following the show, Duvalay plans to refresh its POS with new imagery, along with continuing to offer PR and marketing support to stockists of the collection
