Mammoth tells Cabinet Maker why the recent Bed Show was a big success and its plans to expand overseas.

Leading UK mattress and upholstery brand, Mammoth, celebrated its best Bed Show to date, receiving a record level of visitors to the stand and attracting further overseas interest.

Visitors to the stand got to preview the brand new Performance Pocket 3000, offering retailers a number of strong USPs and amazing returns on floor space; new divans with an array of stylish swatch fabrics to suit any decor; and its proven and ever successful core range.

John said: “We’ve exhibited at the Bed Show for a number of years now and each event proves better than the last. We set our expectations extremely high, but once again, we’ve surpassed them. The take up was fantastic – not only did many of our existing customers expand their Mammoth offering but we signed up lots of new customers, gained interest from many more, and extended our international trade.”

The new flagship Pocket 3000 contains three of Mammoth’s key technologies: their unique medical grade foam and SuperSoft medical grade foam, coupled with high-spec pocket springs to give best of cutting edge pressure relief with the more traditional feel of springs. These technologies have also been tested by registered physiotherapists in conjunction with Mammoth’s partnership with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Both Performance Pockets are made with PostureCell pressure relieving technology, a high-spec cooling cover and many more added benefits.  

The core range on show included Mammoth’s bestselling SuperSoft 270, Pocket 1600, ‘Mammoth’ Mammoth and its successful Performance 240 as well as last year’s star newcomer, Sky 270. Mammoth’s ‘Adjustable Studio’ was on the stand which featured its Adjustable 15 - shown on a new low profile adjustable bed base, Adjustable 22 and Adjustable SuperSoft 22

We always ensure our designs are considered for both consumer and trade markets - which was clear to see at the show. Our new swatch of fabrics allows retailers to accommodate a range of consumer tastes and we also understand that we need to create a focal point instore to drive footfall.”

Mammoth also attracted a lot of international attention at the show, landing one new account there and then. Based in Dubai city centre, Meroë is a leading bed boutique concept store. It focuses on providing the ultimate sleep experience - both physical and physiological elements - from beds through to high-end room fragrances to encourage sleep.

The boutique will display three of Mammoth’s collection to start, with a view to expanding the range. It includes the Performance 240, SuperSoft 270 and the brand new Pocket 3000, accommodating a range of price points and needs.

Mammoth founder, John Tuton, said: “We’re constantly receiving emails from consumers world-wide on where they can purchase Mammoth mattresses and if we will ship to them. I’m delighted that we’re now making inroads into achieving this.”

Earlier this year, Mammoth signed up its first international customer, Bennetts Bedrooms, in the Algarve in Portugal. With a strong reputation in the Algarve for quality homeware, store owner, Paul Bennett, visited Mammoth’s licensed manufacturer, The Foam Company in the UK – to get a better understanding of the business before committing. He now displays 11 Mammoth models with a wide mix from its portfolio including the core range to the high-end luxury products.

John added: “We were delighted at the show to welcome on board a customer from Dubai moving us beyond Europe. We’re really looking forward to following up all of our leads which will prepare us for an even bigger 2017.”

Having reported a 25% year-on-year growth this year with the Bed Show 2015 being a major contributing factor, Mammoth is looking forward to a successful 2017, both home and away.
