Independent furniture clearance warehouse Against the Grain suffered a fire over the weekend in its store room.

The blaze reportedly broke out on 19 June 2016 at around 5:06pm at the furniture warehouse based on Hoole Road in Chester and was attended by multiple firefighters, along with six fire engines and one hydraulic platform.

Against the Grain, which supplies end of the line products from a host of brand names including John Lewis, Next and Harveys, has been established for just three years and is currently examining the extent the damage.

Chester Fire & Recuse Service confirmed that the fire ignited in the store room of the premises but is unclear on how the blaze originally started, with an investigation ongoing.
