The Furniture Makers’ Company, the furniture industry charity, has revealed that the annual National Fishing Day raised £1,027 for the charity.
The event, which was once again organised by VitaFoam, took place on 16 July 2016 at the Meadowlands Fishery in Ryton-upon-Dunsmore.
Multiyork hooked the Winning Team prize with a combined weight 263lb 1oz, claiming the £100 prize sponsored by Platt and Hill, while Eyres of Worksop and Harvey Jones took second and third place with catches of 239lb 6oz and 194lb 5oz respectively.
S. Brumpton from Eyres of Worksop won Winning Individual for a total weight of 89lb 6oz, claiming the £100 prize sponsored by Relax Seating and JCS Upholstery, while the Best Fish accolade went to Rob Satt from Harvey Jones, with a weight of 16lb 10oz, and also won £100 sponsored by United Fillings and Interfoam.
The Furniture Makers’ paid tribute to Vitafoam for yet another successful event and said: “Many thanks to Vitafoam and Relax Seating for sponsoring the food at the event.”
Andy Corbett, commercial director at VitaFoam and organiser of the fundraiser, said: “The Furniture Makers’ Company Fishing Day went extremely well with fantastic weather and great fishing. Thank you to everyone that came or that helped to raise much needed funds for the charity.”
The next Furniture Makers’ Fishing Day match will be held on Saturday 15 July 2017 at Meadowlands Fishery.
