Independent foam conversion company Comfortex has seen both sales and profit increase, as the continued expansion within the contract and leisure sectors pays dividends.

Comfortex’s latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2015 revealed a turnover growth of 10.9% to £11.1m from £10m in 2014. Operating profit followed suit, rising by 9.1% to £1.2m from £1.1m, with the company posting an overall profit of £1m, up by 9% from £917,578 recorded last year.

Commenting within the report, the company said: “Whilst concentrating on our existing markets the company also expanded its presence into the contract furniture and leisure sectors. In doing so, the company fulfilled expectations.

“Ongoing product development has generated additional sales which have continued to place the company in a healthy trading position.”

The Oldham-based company, which was established in 1997, manufactures specialist foam and fibre products for the upholstery, mattress and healthcare industries.
