A furniture shop in Cramlington has been declared ‘unsafe’ after the shop front collapsed.
Second to None furniture store, based on Church Street, saw its aging brickwork on the front of the shop broke away, exposing the struts that support the building.
Northumbria Police and Northumberland County Council attended the scene and declared the property unsafe until a structural engineer had examined the extent of the damage.
Police also revealed that no one was injured during the collapse, which took place on 28 June 2016.
A spokesperson for Northumberland County Council said that the council would now be ‘working with the owner and structural engineer to repair the building’.
