The Felicity Bedstead in Elephant Velvet

Wiltshire based Dreamworks beds began making mattresses, divans and headboards in 2003, building up a team of skilled craftsmen. Over the years they have since expanded their catalogue to offer upholstered Products, including bedsteads, sofa beds and coordinating sofas and chairs, and blanket boxes. New products are regularly added to their offering, to give their customers more choice, yet all their divans, mattresses and upholstered products are still precisely designed and meticulously handmade at their Westbury factory.

To strengthen the business further, fresh management has been brought into the company this year. Stuart Page joined as sales director in April, and Guy Miller as managing director in July. Both brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team to help drive Dreamworks Beds forwards over the coming months and years.

The Dreamworks Beds team is now around 100 strong, and they are proud to deliver a high level of quality, service, and value. Only the finest raw materials are selected for manufacturing, as quality is a key factor to the team. Stuart Page commented, “We are determined to offer high quality products that are made to last, so good raw materials are vital - we have to ensure no corners are cut when procuring, as only the best will do. This, combined with care and attention to detail in the Design and manufacturing process, ensures we offer our customers the quality they require. We also ensure we always offer value for money, with our products being competitively priced. There may be cheaper products out there, but the quality isn’t the same.”

“But it’s not just product quality and value that are important to our customers,” continued Stuart. “Good customer service is also key. We offer incredibly fast lead times, typically 10 – 14 days, and our helpful, friendly team, from the salesmen to the delivery drivers and from the customer support to the finance team, deliver a great service to all our clients.”

The range of products offered by Dreamworks Beds is impressive, with more than 50 mattresses to choose from in a range of sizes, including their Natural Collection featuring the Hand-Tufted, Quilted and Portobello ranges, the Berkeley Pillowtop, a Natural Latex range, and mattresses specifically for adjustable beds. They also offer clients the opportunity to promote their own brand with fully customised Mattress labels, using the client’s logo and brand identity.

Their Superior and Premium divans are offered in a range of fabrics with Platform Top or Sprung bases and a choice of storage options, including an Ottoman option. Guest bed options are available on certain models. As well as the standard bed sizes, special size options are available on the divans and mattresses, as the team like to offer as much flexibility as possible to their customers.

On the upholstered side, the extensive range of fabrics available ensures there is something to suit all tastes and styles of interior.  The upholstered bedsteads incorporate a platform style mattress support surface as standard, however an ottoman insert or sprung edge insert can be supplied within these frames. Alternatively, you can coordinate divans with matching headboards offering a floor standing or strut option. Upholstered blanket boxes are also available to give coordinated storage.

Handmade mattresses

Mattresses are designed and handmade at the company’s Westbury factory

The sofa beds offer a range of styles and sizes to suit different requirements, from the classically styled Warwick, with its scroll arms, to the Bianca with its innovative opening mechanism for an incredibly quick and easy opening action.  Even on the sofa beds, Dreamworks Beds are determined to offer comfort. Spring interior mattresses are offered as standard, with the option to upgrade to Visco or pocket spring on most models. Accompanying sofas, love seats and chairs are available to offer a coordinated look to a room, along with footstools on some of the ranges. There is also a choice of occasional chairs for use around the home.

The team are currently working hard developing new sofa beds to expand their collection still further, including ones with a more modern look to give a different feel to suit more contemporary interiors. New upholstered bedsteads are also going to be added to their product range to provide more choice for their customers. These will offer more versatility, with the option of platform, ottomans and adjustable bases.

In 2016 Dreamworks Beds became a member of the National Bed Federation (NBF), and exhibited at the Bed Show for the first time. Stuart commented, “It was great to be at the Bed Show last year and we are looking forward to attending again this year. We will be showcasing the full breadth of our catalogue, exhibiting a range of divans, bedsteads, mattresses, headboards and sofa beds. We’ll have products from our current catalogue on display, but we’ll also be launching some new products. It’s always good to meet customers at these events, to show them our products in detail and to receive feedback so we can continue to improve and develop our offering to suit their requirements.”

Dreamworks Beds have come a long way since 2003 and look set to continue to improve and expand. Why not visit them on stand K50 at the Bed Show to meet the team and find out more about their fantastic range of quality products?
