Kent-based furniture manufacturer Gallery Direct has won the Business of the Year accolade at this year’s Swale Business Awards.
The awards, which are widely regarded as the Kent borough’s most prestigious business event, are held annually, to recognise local excellence and bring businesses together.
The judges look at financial performance, entrepreneurial spirit, environmental credentials, marketing skills, community links, staff welfare and a range of other attributes that when combined make businesses stand out.
Design-led personality pieces that combine the best of traditional craftsmanship with new technology and exciting materials, including a stunning collection of upholstery in a choice of fabrics, all available from stock.
Peter Delaney, managing director of Gallery, commented: “Following winning the Sittingbourne Business of the Year award in 2016, we are thrilled to have gone one better to win the overall Swale Business of the Year this time. We beat a lot of strong competition, from some excellent local businesses across Swale. Last year we impressed the judges with the huge strides made to improve our infrastructure by enlarging the warehouse, creating a delivery fleet etc, to give us a first-class trading platform.
“This year the theme we presented to the judges was the two main pillars of our business - ‘product & People’, the critical ingredients that make our business tick. And it won the judges over unanimously. It’s what we are all about and at the core of our business. I’m incredibly proud of the whole team. We are building an outstanding business together, and we all play an important role in its success.”
