German-based furniture design software specialist SHD Group has confirmed the acquisition of British software specialist ArtiCAD Holdings Ltd.

SHD Group, which includes its KPS design studio for the kitchen and furniture trade, officially acquired a majority stake in shares of ArtiCAD earlier this year, with the current management team, founder Richard Turner and group sales director, Daniel Allerton, set to remain as shareholders and to continue the operation of the business.

Located in Watford and founded in 1992, ArtiCAD specialises in the development and marketing of design software and custom technologies for the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom industry.

Stefan Hahne, CEO of SHD: “We are delighted to welcome ArtiCAD as a new subsidiary of the SHD Group. Both the company strategy and the product portfolio perfectly completes our successful KPS planning software product family. With this acquisition we continue our growth strategy - especially in international markets.”

Richard Turner, ArtiCAD founder, added: “This affiliation with SHD AG, the leading provider for IT solutions for the German furniture and kitchen market, is the right alignment for ArtiCAD and for our new and existing customers. It extends our global growth opportunities significantly.”
