Online lighting business That Lighting Shop has revealed how the company has taken a greener approach to reduce its carbon footprint.
The Swansea-based online wholesaler has introduced recycling methods within its delivery operation that sees the company recycle cardboard and bubblewrap.
Furthermore, That Lighting Shop uses recycled delivery bags using rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), which are made from reproduced plastic bottles.
As well as using recycled bubblewrap to cushion orders, the company often uses popcorn as another means of protecting the packaged product as a lighter alternative, affectingly reducing its carbon footprint.
Laurie Morgan, founder of That Lighting Shop, commented: “All of our plastic delivery bags are made of recycled rPET or PET. Made from recycled plastic drinks bottles, our delivery bags are strong and durable and can also be recycled many times over.
“Popcorn is highly sustainable and it also reduces the weight of our boxes, thus helping to reduce our carbon footprint even further.”
