An investigation has been launched into the huge fire that broke out at an online furniture retailer’s warehouse in Bootle.

LivNStyle Furniture, which has its warehouse located on Strand Road, suffered the blaze on 3 June 2016 at around 7pm, with the fire completely gutting the property, causing a potential ‘building collapse’ risk, according to the incident commander from the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service.

Dozens of firefighters, along with eight fire engines, tackled the blaze throughout the night and the early hours of the following morning, extinguishing the fire around 4:45am on 4 June, while confirming that the structure ‘shows no signs of collapsing’.

It is unclear how the fire ignited, however a joint investigation from the Merseyside Police and the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service has been launched with the case being treated as suspicion of arson.

LivNstyle Furniture has two other warehouses in Runcorn and Birkenhead.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Merseyside Police. The investigation continues.
