Multichannel retailer John Lewis saw sales boosted from its continuous clearance offers, as beds proved to be popular.

According to its latest weekly sales figures to 9 July 2016, John Lewis reported total sales of £85m, up by 4.7% on last year.

Home posted sales up by 1.7% compared with last year, Home Accessories and Gifts had a strong week, with sales up by 6% on last year as Beds continued to perform well.

Across John Lewis’ other main categories, Fashion sales grew by 9.6%, while Electricals & Home Technology saw an uptick of 3% on last year.

John Lewis said that sales of warm weather products contributed to the strong week, while Summer Clearance and Special Buy products within Home also continued to sell well.
