Dutch giant Hunter Douglas has acquired a 60% stake in Nottingham-based online blinds retailer Blinds 2go.

Rotterdam-based Hunter Douglas revealed that the Blinds 2go management, who owns the other 40% of business and reported sales of £34m in 2015, would remain unchanged as the company enters its next stage of growth with plans to expand into the Asian market.

A statement from Hunter Douglas, a world market leader in window coverings (Luxaflex®), said: “Hunter Douglas has acquired 60% of Blinds 2go. Hunter Douglas intends to assist Blinds 2go in expanding into selected Asian markets, which presents an attractive opportunity for Blinds 2go’s unique own-branded product range.”

This is the second move by Hunter Douglas in expanding its blinds arm after completing the acquisition of Scottish blinds manufacturer Stevens of Scotland back in November last year.
