Bed manufacturer Hypnos has announced an exclusive collaboration with interiors journalist and designer Amira Hashish.
Launching at this year’s Decorex – part of the London Design Festvial taking place from 18-21 September at Syon Park in London, the partnership features a series of beds with the first to be unveiled at the show named as The Sand.
Its design uses Ikat and tribal influences to explore the desert, whilst featuring natural fibres and pocket spring technology to create maximum support and comfort.
The Sand headboard fabric is completely unique to the collection and has been screen printed by hand using metallic gold inks at the Insley & Nash studio.
Chris Ward, group marketing director at Hypnos explained: “Working with Amira has been the perfect partnership to bring this concept to life. With her passion and flair for contemporary design we have created a collection that is bold, innovative and with a strong focus on interiors trends which are set to become modern classics.”
Debuting her first design project, Amira said: “When Hypnos approached me to design a boutique bed collection I knew we had an exciting project on our hands. Our vision was to combine Hypnos’ 100 years of craftsmanship and British heritage with contemporary looks and fabric printing techniques.
“This project is a celebration of traditional furniture making skills, paired with the technology which enables us to create striking beds in a new way for a design conscious customer. It was incredibly important to me to achieve this by working with fresh talent from the fabric world so we approached London based Insley & Nash.
“We created the patterns from scratch, where I drew on my own inspiration as well as trends which I believe will stand the test of time.”
