Swedish furniture giant IKEA has announced that it plans to open its first London store at the end of the month, bringing its Order and Collection concept to four in the UK.

The new IKEA Westfield Stratford City Order and Collection Point will officially open on 31 August 2016 and will be located in the Westfield Stratford City shopping mall, occupying a space of 9,600sq ft.

IKEA has been rolling out the new format, which isn’t the typical size of a usual IKEA store, featuring less physical products but offering a full online service to place orders, with other locations open in Norwich, Aberdeen and most recently in Birmingham.

Mirco Righetto, IKEA Westfield Stratford Order and Collection Point manager, said: “We are delighted to be bringing this unique version of IKEA to Westfield. We have had a lot of positive feedback for bringing IKEA to the area and so we expect the first few weeks will be quite busy. We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to the Order and Collection Point over the coming months.”
