Five-store independent furniture retailer FW Homestores has donated four sofas from its Exeter outlet to victims of the Richer Sounds electrical store fire.

The blaze broke out around 2pm on 27 July 2016 at the site on Sidwell Street, which resulted in homes being severely damaged.

FW Homestores decided to donate four ex-display sofas to help the most affected by the fire to try and rebuild their homes.

The news of the Exeter store donation follows the recent revamp that took place at its Barnstaple outlet, which launched on 6 April 2016.

The refurbishment saw the store expand its second floor to allow space for dedicated bedroom and living room areas.

Commenting on the project, FW Homestores stated: “Our stunning new second floor is now complete. The additional floor space will give us 80% more display area to present our bedroom, living room and sitting room furniture, with dedicated spaces for each.”

FW Homestores has three other stores in Caerphilly, Cardiff and Newport, and has been established for more than 20 years.
