Independent home furnishing and garden store Kemps of Cottingham has announced it plans to close this week for the final time due to a downturn in trading.
Kemps, which is located on King Street in Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire, has been established for around two years and was founded by David Kemp.
However, due to a slump in sales over the last few months, the business has decided to call time on the shop and will permanently close on 23 July 2016.
Commenting to local press, The Hull Daily Mail, owner David said: “In June, it was our worst ever month since we opened and it was by several thousand pounds.
“We look at the investment we put in and you look at the figures and there becomes a point where you don't throw more money at it, it becomes a non-feasible business."
Kemps is currently holding its summer sale, with items as low as 50% off to try and reduce stock before closing.
