Nottingham-based independent furniture firm Aura Designer Furniture has confirmed it plans to close one of its stores to focus on its remaining showroom.

Aura Designer Furniture, which is owned by Max Nouri, has put the Mansfield Road premises up for sale, appointing estate agency Savills who has put a guide price of between £500,000 and £550,000 for the 7,500sq ft showroom.

The Mansfield Road store, which remains trading until its sale, was put up on the market last month, with the potential sale ending a 27-year stay and will leave the business with one trading outlet, based on Huntingdon Street.

Mr Nouri spoke to the Nottingham Post: "We don't need the Mansfield Road premises anymore because it's not very practical for us and I'm finding it difficult to manage them both. I have a large showroom in Huntingdon Street, which is quite large and has another showroom at the other side of the car park.

"It's been a very good location and was doing really well. The windows are very big and it has benefited from the Victoria Centre redevelopment."

The Nottingham city centre showroom will go on sale at Savills' Nottingham Racecourse on 7 July 2016.
