Beds and bedroom furniture deliver another strong week for John Lewis, as cooler weather drives footfall.

According to the latest weekly sales figures to 2 July 2016, John Lewis reported a 2.1% rise in sales to £90.8m.

The multichannel retailer said that its summer clearance continued to attract customers, while cool weather played its part in driving customers into shop.

Within its categories, John Lewis Home posted an overall growth of 1.7% compared to last year, with beds and bedroom furniture producing the strongest performance as sales rose by 15.5%.

Within the other departments, fashion registered an uptick of 3.8%, while electricals suffered a slower week with sales down by 0.1%.
