Family owned department store Leekes has reported another successful year at its flagship store in Coventry, with sales growing by 17%.

The 185,000sq ft Coventry outlet, which opened back in 2012 on Silverstone Drive, has seen ‘double-digit’ growth and adds to the firm’s positive return in profit, up to £2m, with EBITDA profits exceeding £6m for the financial year to March 2016.

The company also revealed that its flagship store would add a number of new sections, including a contemporary Calligaris Italian dining studio, a Natuzzi leather upholstery collection and a new Affordably Stylish collection, as well as a large selection of outdoor living furniture.

Commenting to Coventry Telegraph on the recent success, Emma Leeke, managing director, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our Coventry store is doing so well. Since opening we have seen double digit sales growth in consecutive years and our challenge is to continue this.”

Coventry store manager Julie Bowen, added: “As the store is doing so well we are now looking to expand our team to ensure we provide customers with the best possible service every time they visit.”
