International Mammoth takes off for the Bed Show.
As it prepares to bring ‘the science of comfort’ to the Bed Show, Mammoth is celebrating another notable year. The company has enjoyed 35% year-on-year growth, an NHS award for innovation plus new appointments and its second office expansion in two years.
As one of the UK’s fastest growing mattress and upholstery brands, Mammoth is also celebrating international status with its first oversees stockist: Bennetts Bedrooms based in the Algarve, Portugal, has started to stock Mammoth beds following high demand from customers.
Now it it hopes to develop its international status further at one of its key annual events – the National Bed Federation’s (NBF) Bed Show taking place at the Telford International Centre on 20-21 September (stand H30).
Known for using its unique medical grade foam, Mammoth will unveil its new luxury mattress, divans and swatches alongside its upgraded website, designed to drive further footfall and offer more support for stockists. It will also be showcasing its proven and successful core range.
Says Mammoth founder, John Tuton: “From the outset, Mammoth has done things differently. We have collaborated with sporting bodies and sleep experts to scientifically prove that our unique medical grade foam products really do deliver benefits which can make a difference to peoples’ health. Our innovation and strong focus on the science of comfort has now been recognised by the NHS which further reinforces the success of our healthcare-led approach.”
The NHS Innovations North Bright Ideas in Health Awards celebrate the very best advances developed by healthcare staff in the North East and North Cumbria. Judged by a mixed panel including directors of some of the largest NHS trusts in the North of England, and the Health Science Network, Mammoth received highly commended in the SME Innovation in Healthcare category for making its technologies accessible to the general public. The award further contributes to its strong story and selling points for retailers.
To support the growing business, Mammoth recently made two new head office appointments and expanded its office space at its Newcastle base. And then came its first overseas account.
Paul Bennett, owner of Bennetts Bedrooms, comments:
“Being a bed specialist, the growing reputation of Mammoth wasn’t something I could ignore. We supply mid to high-end products and had many customers asking us about Mammoth mattresses. Once I researched further, I was incredibly impressed with its range of products, and the fact it had results from rigorous tests to prove that its mattresses really do aid sleep.”
With a strong reputation in the Algarve for quality homeware, Paul visited The Foam Company factory in the UK – the manufacturing facility for Mammoth Mattresses – to get a better understanding of the business before committing. He now stocks the full core collection. He explains: “Because we import most of our products, it is vital for my business that I’m working with trusted suppliers.”
Going from strength-to-strength, Mammoth is now looking forward to meeting existing and new retailers at the Bed Show to talk about its recent successes and how this can enhance their sales. According to Mammoth’s marketing manager, Kris Wood, the annual event has contributed massively to the ongoing success of the business. He says: “We’ve had a stand at the show for the past five years and 2015 was our best show to date. For the mattress side of the business, it’s an essential date in the diary and, this year, we’ve expanded our show space to maximise sales even further.
“We really enjoy this event as it’s the one time of year we get to see our existing retailers and meet news one at the same time. It’s the perfect opportunity to find out how we can support our customers further, what we can build on and how to make those relationships even stronger.”
The company originally started as an elite sports mattress specialist and being benefit providers to the British Athletes Commission. Known for its unique medical grade foam, it has recently rolled out a seating range, another step in its goal to offer 24/7 comfort. The business continues to develop products focusing on comfort, health and wellbeing and recently became a new member of ACID (Anti Copying In Design) in a bid to protect its unique technologies and designs.
