DM Design has reported a slight reduction in both top and bottom lines
Glasgow-headquartered provider of kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, DM Design has reported a slight reduction in both top and bottom lines, whilst a reduction strategy has downsized the cost base of the company.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 January 2016, total sales for the period fell by 5% to £9.2m from £9.6m in 2015. Pre-tax profit also decreased to £435,454 from £497,914.
Indicated within its report, DM Design took action to improve the profitability and cash flow of the business through a programme of branch closures, cost reductions and restructuring of marketing activities.
The company said that these actions have successfully reduced the cost of the base and resulted in an end of year cash balance of £101,259, up by 17.4%.
