The Lighting Industry Association (LIA) has announced the official launch of its academy this month.

The grand opening of the Lighting Industry Academy takes place on 28 September 2016 at its recent purpose built 12,500sq ft laboratories in Telford.

To mark the launch the LIA will play host to a seminar focusing on ‘Brexit and its impact on the UK lighting industry’, which will be presented by key players from industry and academia, as well as offering the chance to explore and experience the new Academy home.

The LIA said that the Academy ‘brings together providers, manufactures, academic institutions and other leading organisations’, as well as enhancing skills and learning to the whole lighting community.

The Lighting Industry Academy, funded in part by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund was developed in response to the real and pressing need within the industry to provide a central, coherent training and career path for lighting industry professionals and trades people.
