Mattress manufacturer Gainsborough has confirmed that managing director Jerry Yates will retire next year, with Nick Gigg being appointed into the role.
After 30 years at the of Gainsborough, which is part of the Airsprung Group, Jerry Yates has decided to retire and will formally step down from the business around mid-2017.
Nick Gigg, currently sales and marketing director at Swanglen Furnishings in Bristol, has been appointed to succeed Jerry in the position of managing director and has been with Airsprung since 2005.
In a statement, the group said: “Until his departure, Jerry will remain with Gainsborough managing a number of key accounts and working on further opportunities where his long-standing experience will be particularly valuable.
“Jerry’s retirement from the MD’s role will be a great loss not only to Gainsborough but also to the wider Airsprung group where he has brought huge industry and personal experience to its running.
“We are pleased to announce that the new managing director of Gainsborough will be Nick Gigg. Nick assumed his new role on the 3 October and he and Jerry will work together to facilitate a seamless handover.”
