Harrison Spinks introduces flock of 23 Wensleydale sheep
Luxury bed manufacturer Harrison Spinks has announced the addition of a rare breed of sheep to its flock, which will potentially be used in a new, limited edition mattress.
The company has introduced a flock of 23 Wensleydale sheep with the intention of using their sumptuous wool as a filling in its luxury mattresses, whilst also helping to protect the breed, which has significantly declined in numbers over the years.
Richard Essery, managing director of Harrison Spinks’ components division explained: “As a Yorkshire-based company we feel passionate about championing our local heritage and what better way to do that than by our own pedigree flock of Wensleydale sheep’s wool, that traditionally hale from North Yorkshire, as fillings for our mattresses. As well as protecting a rare and beautiful breed, the long fleece of the Wensleydale sheep will be perfect for creating a luxurious mattress filling and will likely form part of a limited edition bed for one of our brands.”
