Upholstery business Cottage Upholstery has won the International Award in Traditional Upholstery by the Guild of Traditional Upholsterers at its latest AGM.

The Nettlebed-based company, which was founded by Gregory Cupitt-Jones in 1994, was recognised for work in restoring an 1887 French sofa, and marks the achievement as part of its 25th year celebration.

Gregory was presented with the award by fellow upholsterer David James at his unit in Manor Farm, Oxfordshire, and is the third time the business has won the accolade.

The Guild of Traditional Upholsterers provides each member with support and help whenever needed and also encourages younger members as they progress in their chosen craft, and was first established in 1987.
