Furniture and homewares chain The Range has confirmed it has secured a contract with McLaren Construction to build its new £90m distribution centre near Bristol.
According to the Construction Enquirer, McLaren held off competition to land the deal, which will take around 12 months to complete and will be the size equivalent of 15 Wembley Stadiums.
The project, which is set to commence in the near future, will see the 1.2m sq ft warehouse built on the Central Park logistics centre in Avonmouth.
Chris Dawson, founder of The Range, said: “This distribution centre is a big step in the expansion plans that I have for the business; it’s non-stop for us.
“When the warehouse is up and fully operational, it will act as a training hub for smaller distribution centres around the country.”
The Range has also revealed that it plans to open two new stores in Tunbridge Wells – on Vale Road in a former Morrisons outlet, as well as in Exmouth – on the Liverton Business Park, which opens on 24 June.
