New furniture retail start-up Fabb Projects Limited has confirmed the appointment of former DFS operations director David Payling, as further capital is pumped in from shareholders.
Filed through Companies House, David Payling officially joined the board at the beginning of August 2016, following his resignation from DFS at the end of March earlier this year. David spent over four years in the role of operations director and had been within the DFS Group since 1989 – starting out as a general manager.
The move follows the recent appointment of former Austin Reed executive, Alan Charlton, and adds to the Fabb board already consisting of Lord Kirkham’s son Michael Kirkham, along with previous DFS personnel Scott and Helen Coggan, and Gary Pitchford. Other directors include Laura Chiddey, Julie Cross and Nigel Hardy.
Furthermore, new capital of £959,940 has been raised bringing the total figure of investment to £5m. Recently Fabb confirmed extra capital of £902,562, adding to the previous cash-injections from shareholders of £2.2m – back in April this year – and its first round of £875,000 back in February.
Fabb Projects, which officially registered an EU trademark under the name of Fabb Sofas through representative law firm Kilburn & Strode LLP on 21 June 2016, has been plotting potential locations through numerous planning applications, including sites in Hedge End and Straiton.
