Beds deliver double-digit week for John Lewis as sales grow to mark the launch of its 2016 Christmas advertising campaign.

According to it s latest weekly sales figures to 12 November 2016, total sales increased by 1.8% at £112.4m on last year, with two of its three core sectors registering an uptick in performance.

John Lewis Home reported an overall rise of 0.7% in the week, with sales of beds contributing largely, up by 18.8% on the year, as well as Filled Bedding items, which saw a growth of 10.4%.

Within the other categories, Fashion sales saw a 4.5% uplift, whilst Electrical & Home Technology suffered a decline of 0.1% compared to last year.

The week under review also marked the launch of this year’s Christmas ad ‘Buster the Boxer’, which generated some 52 million views, with over one million shares across its social media channels.
