Furniture retailer DFS has confirmed the appointment of Toni Wood as its new chief marketing officer.
Toni, who has also been appointed on the DFS executive committee, joins the company from Costa Coffee where she was global brand & digital director, whilst also holding previous senior positions at The Jordans & Ryvita Company, Findus and Procter & Gamble.
The new addition follows the recent announcement of Nicola Bancroft taking up the position of chief financial officer, replacing Bill Barnes – who has retired, and moving from her previous role as commercial finance director.
Nicola, who has 29 years of experience in the retail sector, joined DFS in January 2013 from Alliance Boots and has now taken the role in effect of 1 August 2016, following Bill Barnes retirement at the end of July after 13 years.
Ian Filby, chief executive officer, said: “I would like to welcome Toni Wood to our executive committee as chief marketing officer. I am delighted to welcome Nicola Bancroft to our Board. Bill leaves with our thanks and our very best wishes for the future.
“Nicola and Bill have worked closely together for the last three years and the handover of responsibilities has therefore been seamless and smooth. I am particularly pleased that we now have equal representation of women and men on our Board.
“I would like to join the chairman in thanking Bill Barnes for his great contribution to DFS as our group finance director since 2003, and to wish him a very long and happy retirement.”
