Multi-channel retailer John Lewis has reported a slight growth in sales despite warmer weather continuing to affect performance.
According to its latest weekly sales figures to 3 September 2016, total sales were up 0.8% at £87.5m. Within the categories, Home sales were down by 1.9%, although Furniture continued its strong performance from last week and saw sales grow by 4.3%.
Despite the growth in furniture and its own-brand ranges continuing to show ‘real strength’, it wasn’t enough to stop Home suffering a negative week.
In the other sectors, Fashion sales were also down by 0.9%, whilst Electrical & Home Technology sales registered an uptick of 5.5%.
