Swedish furniture giant IKEA has confirmed it plans to open a new store in Exeter.
IKEA aims to submit its final planning application to Exeter City Council this month, which will see the retailer launch a store near Sandy Park.
Outline planning was submitted to Exeter City Council back in 2014, which was approved by the planning committee. The report highlighted that IKEA had until January 2017 to submit final plans on the project before the initial plan expired.
Sources suggest it is now expected that IKEA will submit fully detailed plans to the council over the next couple of weeks with the anticipated store to be built between Sandy Park and Newcourt Way.
