Danish home furnishings retail chain JYSK has confirmed the opening of its first store in Georgia.
The new 14,000sq ft store, which also features a 3,200sq ft stock room, is located in the countries capital in Tbilisi and officially opened on 1 October 2016.
Fredrik Kroun, franchise director in JYSK, said: “We opened the first store in Tbilisi, as this will be a good starting point for JYSK in Georgia before we expand to other parts of the country.
“Georgia is a great new addition to the family of franchise countries in JYSK. Georgia has evolved a lot in the past years. We believe that the Georgian customers are ready to take part in the great Scandinavian offers from JYSK, and we look forward to providing them with that.”
Two local business partners own the franchisee that also own the chain of stores called DANISH HOUSE.
JYSK Group was founded in 1979 by Lars Larsen, and currently has a store portfolio of over 2,300 in 44 countries, with its latest turnover standing at €3.4bn.
