Danish home furnishings retail chain JYSK has confirmed that it plans to open a new store in Poland, bringing its total portfolio to 200 in the country.
The new store officially opens on 14 October 2016 in Jarocin with Poland becoming the first country out of its 44 establishments that bares 200 JYSK outlets.
JYSK has also revealed that it plans to build on its success in Poland, by adding a potential 100 further stores, aiming to reach the 300 milestone.
CEO of JYSK Nordic, Jan Bøgh, said: “This makes us very proud and it means a lot to JYSK. Poland and the other Eastern European countries is the part of Europe where we are experiencing the highest growth, and I am pleased that the attitude towards JYSK in general is very positive. That is very much the case in Poland as well.
“Poland is a country with a population of nearly 40 million people, so we believe that there is room for plenty more JYSK stores. Store number 200 is a milestone, which our colleagues in Poland should be very proud to have reached. However, it is not the finish line, and we must continue our hard work towards store number 300.”
JYSK has approximately 1,800 employees in Poland where the company, besides its stores and a local head office, also owns a large distribution centre in the city Radomsko, which distributes products to JYSK stores in Poland and other Eastern European countries.
