Family owned retailer Leekes has won the ‘Excellence in Retail Initiative’ category at The Excellence in Housewares Awards.
Receiving the accolade for the success of its Privilege Card scheme, the business was recognised at the recent award ceremony in London with Amanda Reed, buying controller at Leekes, accepting the award on behalf of the company.
Amanda said: “It’s an honour to have been recognised at the prestigious national Excellence in Housewares Awards. Housewares is a key part of our business and we continue to work hard to develop our selection of houseware products, ensuring we include all the newest innovations on the market.
“The launch of our new Privilege Card over the last 18 months has been hugely successful and enabled us to offer our best customers a range of benefits which have been taken up well in store.”
Emma Leeke, managing director at Leekes explained: “We continue to make substantial investments in the service we offer, and try to find innovative ways to reward our loyalty to our business. Since launching the scheme in 2014, over 60,000 Privilege Cardholders have signed up.
“The initiative has provided us with the opportunity to thank our best customers with cardholders enjoying exclusive rewards and benefits, style advice as well as free tea and coffee in store on weekdays. I am delighted that the Association has recognised us with this award.”
Organised by Progressive Housewares magazine in conjunction with the Cookshop & Housewares Association, The Excellence in Housewares Awards have been recognising and rewarding UK retailers, products and suppliers for over 16 years.
