Logistics group Palletforce has announced that it has secured a new facility from property specialist Goodman, with construction work already underway.
The new 260,000sq ft development will be Palletforce’s new distribution centre and will be located adjacent from its existing 379,000sq ft hub at Centrum Business Park at Burton upon Trent.
Having signed a 15 year lease for the new project, work began in October 2016 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-2017, taking around nine months.
Upon completion, Palletforce will hold a total of 639,400sq ft, which represents the UK and Europe’s single largest palletised distribution facility.
The new distribution centre being developed by Goodman will operate 24-hrs a day and provide 260,000sq ft of storage space, capable of processing in excess of 30,000 pallets for distribution across the UK and Continental Europe.
Commenting on the announcement, Goodman development director Nigel Dolan said: “We are very pleased to extend our relationship with Palletforce and have the opportunity to develop this important new facility, and play a role in the continued growth of their network. We look forward to delivering this project for Palletforce and continuing our long and successful partnership.”
Goodman were represented by Cushman & Wakefield, CBRE and Avison Young.
