Big ticket items drove Home sales this week for John Lewis as all three categories delivered strong performances.
According to its latest weekly sales figures to 22 October 2016, total sales rose by 6.7% on last year at £91m. Another reason to celebrate was that John Lewis opened its 48th shop, its regional flagship department store in Leeds.
Within its Home sector, sales were up by 2.3% as big ticket items proved popular “as customers look to ready their home in time for Christmas”, said Amanda Dammers, head of shop trade, central & midlands at John Lewis.
Within the other categories, fashion sales increased by 10.3% - the only double-digit growth recorded in the week, whilst electrical and home technology sales weren’t too far behind, up by 8.7%.
