Heritage retailer Woods Furniture has announced plans to open a new store in Dorchester next month.

Woods Furniture has agreed a 15 year lease at £14 per sq ft for the new 4,000sq ft space in Brewery Square on Copper Street, which is scheduled to open in November.

The new store will feature a selection of accessories and furniture and forms part of Brewery Square’s £100m regeneration scheme by Waterhouse & Resolution Property on the former Eldridge Pope Brewery site.

Hamish McGhee, Woods Furniture said: “We are delighted to be opening this new store and joining the fantastic collection of local and national retailers. We believe our customers will really enjoy being able to browse all the home furnishings and accessories in one place.”

James Baker, Resolution Property, said: “Woods is a great addition to the retail line up at Brewery Square and a great local endorsement of this exciting regeneration project. ’’

Woods Furniture, which has been established since 1875, has one other store on High East Street in Dorchester and was recently named the winner of the 2016 Best Overall Retailer in the Dorset Echo Industry Awards.
